NH1725 (29hp) with 450 hours - a few weeks ago, I noticed an oil leak at the center-line axel joint and also tightened the bolts. I have not used the tractor after the retightening of the bolts. If the leak is a precursor to a broken axel, I wonder if there is something I could check/test before using the tractor so to limit the damage should the axal split. This tractor is no longer under warranty and cost to repair is an issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What is NH saying about this?

Do you think a 2 inch pipe can be sledge driven? I have a large electric demolition hammer, I was thinking of welding and inverted steel cup-like fitting to a hex shaft that fit the electric hammer and trying to power drive the pipe into the ground. I would like to get down to 25 feet. Any comments.

I'm about to undertake the first maintenance required valve adjustment<br>on a 1725 Ford. What is the consensus on the practicality or necessity to loosen then<br>torque to specifications each of the head bolts? Or should new head bolts be installed and torqued to specifications? Your comments on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe not, My 1725 is at 45 to 60 psi.

Mike: I learned that Champion makes the Mobil 1 filter. They also make the Luber-finer, an industrial filter; Call them at (800) 882-0890.

Remove the bulb from the indicator light (could cause a false reading at the temperature gauge); use a copper washer at the new temperature sending unit.
